Cloned VM, adinfo shows disconnected, but I don't think I ever technically "Joined" the domain?

Hi - sorry for the complicated description, but here's what I believe I have

  • Installed Centrify express approx 3 years ago.
  • Don't believe I ever officially joined the server to the domain, but somehow setup Centrify to be able to authenticate users logging into the system or more importantly via Samba to the domain
  • That's been working fine (and still is)
  • I cloned this machine (which is a VM) and gave it a different name.
  • My cloned VM shows "CentrifyDC mode:   disconnected", and my "Joined as:" as my original VM's name instead of the clone's name

So my question is, how can I get this cloned VM into the same state - where I can authenticate users that login to the system or via Samba to the domain, without having to "join" the domain per se?  I've seen posts saying I need to leave the domain, rename the system and rejoin the domain, but again I don't believe I ever joined the domain, so I don't want to risk messing up my working system by leaving the domain on this cloned VM.

My hostname on my cloned VM is set properly to a new name, so I guess I need to get Centrify to use this new name and somehow get my CentrifyDC mode back to connected

All of this is in an effort to upgrade my Centrify to the latest and greatest so that my Windows 10 systems can successfully map drives to my system, as from what I understand Windows 10 doesn't support Samba v1 anymore so I need to switch both Centrify and Samba to v2.

Let me know if you can help, thanks
