Version
That version (5.1.0) is EOL even for commercial customers with standard support. You are entitled to free upgrades as part of your newly-acquired purchase.

The reason why I point that out is that IT folks have responsibilities to Security as it relates to try to maintain systems with current versions.
Better ways to do things
If you have the for-pay version, plan to use DirectAuthorize and move-on for the parameter-based (harder-to-manage) methods.
Your problem
My advice is that you open a ticket with support if this one is covered by your existing maintenance contract. They will collect logs and provide you with a better answer.
Note: If you say that the server was working and suddenly this happened, I'd like to happen what happened in-between the failure.
- Was an AIX patch applied?
- Was a configuration change made?
This all sounds environmental to me.
Finally, my advice stands. I know it's hard with how tight IT departments are running, but you are better off upgrading from that version.
