Hi Robertson

Thanks for your quick reply, apologies for the lack of detail on the environment, I have a Windows 2012 server which is my DC, I have a CentOS 6.5 as a fileserver with a SAN attached to this box. We are running centrify express on the CentOS 6.5 and I think the version is 5.2.1 but I cannot see where to verify this. I have set up both SMB share and AFP shares on the CentOS box and now that the CentOS is bound to the Windows DC users connect to these shares with their AD accounts. Shortly afterwards we built a secondary DC which is also WS2012 R2 but not entirely sure of how the roles were set up as it was not my self that did it. (Please see below for requested reports from Powershell)

I have also discovered that the problem is only with SMB shares. When the secondary DC goes off and the issue occurs AFP shares are fine and can be connected to instantly.

PS C:\Users\Administrator> Get-ADDomainController -Filter * | Select Name, Domain, Forest, OperationMasterRoles | Where-
Object {$_.OperationMasterRoles} | Format-Table -Autosize

Name Domain Forest OperationMasterRoles
---- ------ ------ --------------------
BASS05 bands.brothersandsisters.co.uk bands.brothersandsisters.co.uk {SchemaMaster, DomainNamingMaster, PDCEmulator,...

PS C:\Users\Administrator> Get-ADForest | FL GlobalCatalogs

GlobalCatalogs : {BASS05.bands.brothersandsisters.co.uk, BASS07.bands.brothersandsisters.co.uk}

Thanks so much for your help
